Saturday morning, Jim S says, 'Who am I to judge who I get matched with?' And that was the theme for all 24 of us this weekend. I never thought that 10 simple words would have such a profound impact on every one of us who walked together. And as the sun rose and set that beautiful day, God had His way with us. Spencer referred to his weekend of personal healing as walking through a 'joyful pain'.
Beautiful is an understatement for this private weekend in Key Largo. This band of brave men walked beside each other on this Christian walk accelerator weekend. This was the first 48 Hours with the leadership team from the same church. May God use this weekend as a continued blessing for the whole flock of men and women at Granada PCA and in Miami.
Wow! Flying and driving from Texas, Virginia, New York, Ontario, Georgia, Alabama, Florida and North Carolina. These courageous men traveled far and wide to experience a taste of intimacy and freedom that only God could provide. One amazing brother who came had recently lost his leg in a tragic fall. I asked him to pray for us before dinner on Friday night. We all stood, hand-in-hand in awe as he fought to stand up with us. We all knew, the next 48 Hours would not be forgotten.
So much rain this weekend. At times, it really poured and poured. I looked out the window with thunder rumbling and there was Chris in the pouring rain by a roaring fire! It kept pouring all day and that fire kept roaring with flames 3 feet high. It was a real picture of God's power, mercy and refining grace.
Could it be that the shared time together at the cabin in the meadow bound us disciples of the risen King together in such a way that natural law no longer prevailed? A mountain of shared hurts, wounds, scars and lingering doubt be conquered in a mere 48 hours? Today, those same wounds look a little cleaner, a little less debilitating, less capable of causing us to walk with a limp than they were when we trod the road leading to the MoonShadow Lodge.
